Today Kaden turned 27 weeks old. He should weigh around 2 pounds and be about 14.4 inches long. He grows fast now and my tummy is getting bigger everyday it seems like. 
He should also be able to open and close his eyes now too.
Nothing else to report in other news. I’m still feeling okay and haven’t had any more bouts with the coughing. Yay!
I’m feeling better now, yay! I haven’t coughed up any more blood since Tuesday night so I guess that means it’s stopped. I still have to finish taking my antibiotics for the sinus infection though.
I called my OB nurse again today because I’ve been having quite a bit of back pain and cramps and also my stomach has been getting really hard and stuff. She explained that those are just “practice contractions” called Braxton Hicks. I guess it’s nothing to worry about unless they become prolonged or painful. Blah, it’s just one thing after another. The doctor office is probably getting sick of me.
We went to the ER last night around 7 because I started coughing up quite a bit of blood shortly after dinner. So Chad and I rode in an ambulance to St. Joseph hospital. The doctor there didn’t really know what was wrong or what to do. They took some X-rays of my chest and everything appeared to be fine so they took some blood and sent me home. They checked Kaden’s heartbeat and stuff and it’s all fine. So they told me to call my OB doctor in the morning and to see him for a follow up. I didn’t have anymore problems with it that night until this morning. I choked on a small crumb from my toast (yes, good job) and started coughing and coughed up more blood.
So I called my OB and waited for them to call back so I could get in to see him this morning. They finally called and said I needed to call my regular doctor instead. So I did. He didn’t have any openings so I had to see some other doctor. He didn’t seem to think anything was too wrong. He says it’s probably just from my sinus infection and to wait and see if it heals. So in the meantime I have to try not to choke on anymore of my food.
Today Kaden turned 26 weeks old. So by now he should be about 14 inches long and weigh about a pound and two thirds. And according to babycenter.com, the nerve pathways in his ears are developing, which means his response to sound is growing more consistent. Yay!
In other news, I’ve been taking antibiotics for about 2 days now and am already starting to feel better. 
Hopefully the infection won’t come back once I get rid of it. It’s no fun.
I went to the doctor today because I thought I had an ear infection. I guess it’s not really an ear infection, but I do have an infection from my sinuses being all upset or something. It hurts and I don’t feel good. 
So Kaden and I get to be on antibiotics for the next 10 days. Yay.
Other than that not a lot has gone on. Just the usual I guess. Kaden still likes to move around in there a lot. Usually when I am trying to sleep. He already likes to interrupt my sleep, can’t wait to see what it’ll be like when he’s born…
We finally got the mattress for Kaden’s crib the other day. So I put it all together. Nothing really matches but that’s okay. I still want to get a bumper for the crib too. It’s hard to find one that will go with my favorite giraffe blanky. Kaden got that for Christmas from Grandma and Grandpa Smith.(Chad’s parents)
The other Grandma Smith (Grandma Pat) came over last night and brought a bunch more cute clothes.
We need to figure out something different to call all these Smith grandparents. It gets confusing.
Today Kaden is 25 weeks old. According to all the baby sites, most babies at this age are about 13 and a half inches long and weigh about a pound and a half. He should also be starting to get his baby fat. He’s getting big! He still moves around a lot. I think he’s getting excited to come out and play.
We finally got all the furniture put together. It was a really big pain in the butt. But I guess that’s what you can expect from Walmart furniture. I think it looks alright now that it’s together though. We still have to order the crib mattress and it’ll be finished! I’ll probably take another picture of the crib once we get that done.
Chad and I also sorted all Kaden’s clothes by size and put them in his new dresser. I noticed that all the newborn clothes we have are all little onesies. So I guess that’s all he’ll be wearing for a while. It should be okay though since it should be warm by then.
We got the rest of the nursery furniture yesterday! We went to Walmart to pick it up and I thought the box would fit in the back of the car. But it was just a little too big. So I had to call my sister to come get it with her truck while we sat and waited parked in the fire zone.
We only have the crib put together so far but I think we’re going to try to put the rest together tonight. Once we get that done I’ll post some pictures of the room.
We still need to get mattresses for the crib and changing table then the room will be done! Yay!
We went to the doctor today for the 6 month appointment. Got to hear the heartbeat again. Next time I get to have blood work done.
Chad and I went to the mall last night and made Kaden a teddy bear at the Build-A-Bear Workshop. We named him Webster. He is nice and soft. I think he will like him.
